Ginger Cangelosi currently serves as the Executive Director of Economic Development for Tangipahoa Parish Government and serves as the Director of the Tangipahoa Economic Development Foundation and the Industrial Development Board of the Parish of Tangipahoa. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Communication from Southeastern Louisiana University, her primary area of focus is recruiting new business and industry investments to Tangipahoa Parish, with additional priorities including business retention, growth, and expansion of existing businesses and quality job creation.

During her professional career, Ginger has been involved in various levels of business ownership and general business consulting, with a specialized emphasis on insurance and risk management, business continuity planning including emergency preparedness and disaster recovery for business owners and operators. Ginger also has served in numerous community and professional leadership positions and has substantial experience in private, non-profit foundation work.

Ginger continues to be fully engaged in community and local economic development initiatives. Her past work history in the insurance, non-profit, and business consulting industries, along with her experience as a small business owner have provided her with the diverse skill set required to navigate the complex landscape of economic development in her current role.

Ginger is a Certified Louisiana Economic Developer (CLED), and an active member of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), the Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC), and also serves on the Board of Directors for the Louisiana Economic Alliance for Development (LEAD, formerly LIDEA).

Ginger has served on the Board of Directors for GNO, Inc., the SE Louisiana Regional Economic Development Organization. She is also a lifetime member of the Southeastern Louisiana University Alumni Association and currently holds seats on the Northshore Technical Community College Institutional Advisory Committee, the Northshore STEM Advisory Board and is an active stakeholder in the Northshore Regional Resiliency Collaborative, Louisiana Gulf South Logistics Alliance, and StartUP Northshore. Ginger continues to be active in multiple chambers of commerce throughout the parish and the southeast Louisiana region for over 18+ years. During her 7-year tenure as a Tangipahoa Chamber of Commerce Board member, Ginger served as the 2019 Chairman of the Board of Directors was honored as 2022 Annie Award Recipient.
She is a 2012 graduate of Leadership Tangipahoa as well as a member of the Tangipahoa Professional Women’s Organization. Ginger is a Hammond-Ponchatoula Sunrisers Rotarian and an active member of the Northshore Business Council.
Ginger is married to Mike Cangelosi (sole owner of Cangelosi Glassworks), they reside in Loranger, LA, and have two adult children, Michael and Catherine.
